Exploring Some of the Best Wineries in Northern Virginia to Visit

by | Oct 3, 2019 | Wine Manufacturers

Northern Virginia has the ideal climate for growing wine grapes, which is why the area has many beautiful wineries that offer tours and tastings. Some of the best wineries in northern Virginia have selections of wines for tasting so you can choose your favorites to take home with you. Our winery is in Bluemont, VA, and is easily accessible from I-81 and I-66.

Our History

Our winery is in the Bear’s Den Historic District in one of the many stone houses dating back to the late 19th century. We purchased the property in 1998, renovated the dilapidated buildings, and planted our first vineyards. After the first harvest in 2002, we created our two signature wines, a Chardonnay and Raven Rocks Red. Our family-run vineyard has been inviting guests to enjoy the beautiful landscape and our tasty wines since then.

What We Offer

Our winery offers a selection of wines, including red, specialties, and whites. Our tasting room has specialty drinks made with our wines, along with traditional tastings of each variety we offer. We also have a light fare menu with a variety of small plates to coordinate with our wines. We host events throughout the year and have live music on the weekends. We also have space to host special events.

Planning Your Visit

We’re open from 12 to 6 p.m. every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Our winery is in the mountains, so we do occasionally have to close for inclement weather, especially in the late fall and winter months. Our grounds are perfect for picnics and we invite you to bring the entire family, children and pets included, to visit one of the best wineries in northern Virginia. Regardless of whether you’re a beginner just starting to learn about the art of different wines or a connoisseur, you’ll love our winery.
